Steel:

Hot — rolled coil (HRC) steel = prices have increased significantly since the US administration imposed a 25% tariff on all imported steel starting march 12, 2025 . Now the base price of HRC steel in the Midwest was $949per ton, up from $945per ton on march 12

Steel Rebar future= these futures climbed above CNY3,200 per ton recovering from an 11-week low of CNY 3, 156 on march 22 2025 boosted by rising domestic demand in China

Aluminium:


Aluminium futures : As of march 22, 2025 aluminium futures were at $ 2630 per tonne , holding steady after testing a nine- month high of $2730 earlier in march

Aluminium spot price: reflecting a 3.27% increase from the previous month and a21.94% rise from the same time last year.

The recent US tariffs on steel and aluminium imports have significantly impacted global trade and consumer prices, leading to increased production costs for various industries. These tariffs have contributed to rising prices for products containing these metals, including homes, vehicles , and other goods .
